Portable Mp3 Recorder
What’s the best quality / bet? DCC, MD or ,wav file?
I need to do some work on a recording but have to travel light. I can’t record digitally into my laptop because that’s driving the MIDI file. I have portable MD and DCC recorders.I thought I could record each part through a compressor to MD or DCC then copy them digitally back to the PC as .wav files to be arranged on various tracks on a Roland VS1880 or desktop PC running cubasis (the Rolands are at least stable). As far as I know, though DCC is old and obsolete, it’s higher quality than mini disc. The alternative is recording as a .wav into my unstable, hard drive based, mp3 player / recorder which can record as mp3 or wav files. I just thought DCC was sonically better than mini disc still.
I have a Creative Audigy 2NX which doesn’t seem to want to play and my PC won’t load it’s ASIO driver.
Wouldn’t recording each track to DCC be only a bit worse than ADAT type recorders?

LOW: gif, .png
HIGH: .cr2 (known as RAW), .bmp
Audio ———-
LOW: .mp3 (depends on bitrate)
HIGH: .wav (default file for digital recording)

WAV is popular for its uncompressed format. Therefore its best for digital recording.
As for me, (I also record songs through applications), i use WAV for wide variety of purpose. I like to export my finish session in WAV because original output need to be the best.
