Blank Mp3 Discs

What is the proper way to burn MP3 songs to disk..(without using windows media player)?
I have wasted a few disks trying to do this, its obviouly i am doing something wrong.
Do i have to check a setting somewhere, when i insert the disk.
When i do insert a blank disk it will say formatting or something, then i think it is copying the songs but they don’t play..
(ie. i have a folder with about 10 mp3 songs in there, so basically how do i burn these to disk without using media player.

Use iTunes or a standalone burning program like Nero to burn MP3 audio files to a disc. In iTunes, select the playlist containing the songs you want to burn to the CD, insert a blank disc & click burn disc, select MP3 CD as the disc format and click burn. In Nero, just select data CD/DVD from the menu & then simply drag & drop the files that you want to burn. Also ensure that the player supports MP3 media.
