Recording from audio cassette tapes to pc,mp3 conversion,audio editing, writing to CD ?
I want to know any /some good audio editing softwares to edit music files.
Editors will have the features like lowering,increasing sound levels,equalization change with typical sound system equalizers like tone,pitch bass,treble,wave,midi etc and also adding various effects like 3D,surround,noise reduction,elimination. So that I can have clear sound of my favorite musics as much as possible.
Some songs shall have to be taken from audio cassette tapes also.
So I also need a recorder software apps /utility so that I can connect tape decks by stereo cords to my pc’s line/mic jack socket and record those songs,then edit,convert to mp3 or wave files then burn to cd.
So please inform me about some good software apps for these stuffs and procedure also.

Although Audacity will do a certain amount of this sort of stuff for you, it is a little geeky and has some major shortcomings (does not autorecognise tracks, does not author CD’s, needs plug-in for MP3 export) – it’s major plus-point is that it is free!
My personal choice would be ‘Magix Audio Cleaning’ – can be got from eBay or direct from Magix – it’s not too expensive and has a lot of plug-in effects, later versions also allow creation of MP3’s with surround sound.
For info, it is the ‘line in’ that should be used for recording, Magix will also allow recording directly into MP3, you can see how to convert cassette tapes here:
